OCC LIP TARS

Melange | Pretty Boy | Black Dahlia

Melange – a terracotta/peach

Pretty Boy – a dark blue-based fuschia pink (without filter) It is actually a lot brighter than it is showing up in this photo.
Pretty Boy (with filter) however, it does actually look more like this colour in real life!
Black Dahlia – a blackened red that looks slightly burgandy/dark wine (not for the faint hearted!)
So by now you might be aware that I am quite the sucker for a bold lip! I actually can’t believe it has taken me this long to blog about the OCC lip tars I’ve had stashed away (sorry bad blogger syndrome) at the bottom of my makeup drawer, and I have no idea why as I am completely and utterly OBSESSED with them!
I firstly bought the shades Pretty Boy and Black Dahlia from Cult Beauty, then I quickly swiped Melange up later on because the colour just looked so wearable.
If you haven’t tried them, the OCC Lip Tars are a lipstick/lipgloss hybrid – combining the longevity of a lipstick with the ease of application from a gloss. They are made by Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics and are 100% vegan and cruelty free. They are extremely pigmented and contain Hemp Oil, Peppermint Oil and Vitamin E. With these, a little definitely goes a long way – I use half a small pea size and this is enough to build up a rich colour. I was worried these would make lips really dry but surprisingly they didn’t at all, and once it dries you are left with a lovely satin finish.
Each lip tar comes in its own little plastic pouch with instructions and lip brush (which is actually really good at applying). The one thing I would say is that the colour tends to fade after a couple of hours so make sure you carry it in your handbag! The good thing about it though is that you don’t have to worry about mess as you can just pop the little brush and tube in its little plastic pouch and you are good to go.

Have you tried OCC Lip Tars? What do you think of them?
