4 TIPS ON HOW TO DRESS STYLISHLY FOR SPRING IN THE UK

Today’s post is to all my ladies feeling the struggle with this ‘in between’ weather we’re experiencing at the moment. If you stay in the UK you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. Yes, yesterday was officially the first day of Spring and I’d like today’s post to be all about leather biker jackets and crisp white cotton tees but let’s be real….today I woke up to snow. Yes SNOW! So…I thought I’d share what I’ve really been wearing the past couple of weeks and share some of my top tips on dressing stylishly but sensibly for the weather this season…

LAYERING

It’s all about the layering. If you’re a biker jacket kinda gal, investing in some key basics to layer underneath is essential. I really couldn’t be without a white shirt. It’s the one basic that I find to be so versatile and looks amazing on its own, layered under a jumper or like I’ve done here by throwing it on underneath this cute embroidered Zara top! The embroidered top really does bring the Spring element to this whole look but if I wore it sans shirt I’d literally freeze on the streets of Glasgow!

FISHNETS/CROPPED JEANS

As much as I’d love to get my legs out at the sight of some sunshine it really just isn’t practical at the moment because it’s been so windy, cold (and snowy)  in Glasgow – even with the sun out – so this is my answer to showing a little bit of flesh in a stylish but practical way. It’s amazing how the tiniest little extra detail can add so much more to an outfit! If you hate cold feet like me, another little tip is to pop on some ankle socks underneath your fishnets for extra warmth/comfort, slip on some ankle boots and your good to go!

LOAFERS

The loafer trend doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon and my feet couldn’t be happier! I picked up this pair of beaut Topshop dark red Gucci loafer dupes and I’m obsessed. Red is everywhere at the moment so this is an easy way to incorporate a pop of colour into your outfits and it immediately helps freshen up your Spring wardrobe. Again, comfort (and warmth) are important to me so if fishnets aren’t your thing then pop on some cute ankle socks to give a cute preppy look to your outfit.

DUSTER COATS

Ah my beloved Missguided wool duster coat (similar). I gave this coat a lot of praise in my last post (here) and for good reason! Even although it has a good weight to it, it’s still light enough to pass off as Spring appropriate and also the fresh crisp cream shade just brightens everything up! It’s by far one of my best investments this year…and the best part is that it only cost £26! It also comes in a rose pink shade (here) fyi…you’re welcome. Anyway, I digress. Ahhh yes, duster coats…if you stay in a cooler climate like the UK this is definitely your best friend. Not only does it make every outfit look chic and put together but it actually does a good job at keeping the Spring chill at bay and that has to be a good thing surely?!

And that’s my top 4 tips on how to really dress for Spring in the UK!
What’s your tips? I’d love to hear them!

I absolutely looove this outfit. I need that bag and the embroidered top is perfect! Don’t be surprised if the next time you see me I’m just wearing this exact outfit (minus the bag) haha. Great pictures too 😉 😉 😉 xx
