It’s not often I review fragrances and I’m not quite sure why? I think it’s because I tend to repurchase my favourites over and over! However, I do actually love trying new scents and every now and again a beautiful fragrance lands on my desk and surprises me which is exactly why I’m here today. I have a quick and sweet lil review for you all about the newest scent by Michael Bublé Fragrances – By Invitation Peony Noir.
WHAT DO MICHAEL BUBLÉ FRAGRANCES SAY ABOUT IT?
“Peony noir is elegant and romantic, an inviting mix of sweet rose and orange blossom combined with base notes of sandalwood and cedarwood, helping it carry long into the night and making the fragrance the perfect accessory to any woman’s evening.”
WHAT DO I THINK?
I definitely agree that By Invitation Peony Noir is quite a romantic fragrance. It reminds me of date nights and candlelit dinners. This is what I think when I look at the bottle too! Isn’t it stunning? I love the shape and the black ombré effect is just gorgeous, as is the rose gold lid and writing. It looks fab on my dressing table – I’m a sucker for pretty packaging.
THE SCENT
Onto the scent…this is a tricky one. I always find it really difficult to describe scents. It’s very much a personal thing – everyone is bound to smell something different! However, what I will tell you is that it’s gorgeous. I like quite a musky sweet scent, nothing too floral. And despite this having rose in it I’m glad to report that the rose scent is very light. Instead I can definitely smell orange blossom (quite lightly), sandalwood and vanilla – everything I love! For me this is the perfect winter scent. I can imagine me walking around the Christmas markets on a frosty night, sipping mulled cider; or sipping some champagne on a candlelit date. It’s just the perfect evening scent in my opinion.
STAYING POWER
I’m pleased to report that this actually lasts on me throughout the day. Sure it get’s a bit milder as the day goes on but it doesn’t vanish which is a huge thumbs up from me. One thing I hate particularly with some celebrity fragrances, is that you think you’re getting a great bargain as they tend to be a bit cheaper but then they don’t actually last that long. You therefore ending up spraying them loads throughout the day so they end up not actually lasting as long as some more expensive fragrances! This however is not the case with Peony Noir, hooray! I tend to spray in the morning, once again in the afternoon (just because I like to top up but it really isn’t necessary) then if I’m going out I’ll have another spritz in the evening. It’s definitely one of those scents you could get away with spraying twice per day though.
WHERE CAN YOU BUY IT?
I’m pleased to report that for £42 you can get your hands on a huge 100ml eau de parfum which is pretty awesome if you ask me, from the Michael Bublé Fragrances website here.
If you’re looking for a new Winter scent you should definitely try and get your hands on a sample of this and let me know what you think!
Lots of love,
Chantelle xx

I got this perfume and I was surprised by how much I loved it! I normally avoid ‘celebrity’ branded perfumes but this scent is gorg!
