EASY CHRISTMAS CANDLE CENTERPIECE

Christmas celebrations are in full swing in The Girl In The Tartan Scarf household (I did think of shortening that to an acronym but The GITTS household doesn’t sound quite right haha). I love a good candle, so when I was in IKEA the other week I saw this serving plate and immediately thought it would be be amazing for a little candle table decoration. I had a picture in my mind of how I wanted it to look so I just ran with it, and bought some pot pourri from Sainsburys in ‘Christmas Spice’ (which only cost £4) and arranged this alongside some of my favourite candles: Kringle – Soothing Cinnamon, Yankee Candle Cinnamon Stick and a new favourite of mines Mulled Wine by Holiday Memories. I then finished my little arrangement with some silver glitter snowflake baubles.
The scents together are beautiful and the whole house smells spicy and warming with all those good winter aromas. As I already had the candles and the baubles, the extra cost was only £12 (I think the serving plate was around £8) so I think this is pretty good for what turned out to be such a pretty little table topper. Everyone who’s visited me since I put it on my coffee table has commented on it and it was so quick and easy to create. I know Yankee candles are a bit on the pricier side, but I got my Holiday Memories candle from TK Maxx which only cost around £6, and although they aren’t as scented as Yankee candles they do give off a good amount of fragrance once they’ve been left to burn a bit, and of course you can always just use any of your favourite candles that you have at home.
What do you think of my Christmas candle decoration? Will you give it a go?

I hope you’re all having a holly jolly December so far! 🙂

I love this, it looks awesome. You are so creative, if I see a serving plate then I see a serving plate (little imagination) :’)
