HOW TO DEPOT MAC EYESHADOWS IN 3 EASY STEPS

Sorry I know I’m extremely late to the mark with this post guys but I had never attempted to depot my Mac eyeshadows just because I couldn’t be bothered with the fuss and thought it would be a lot more tricky than what it actually is!

After doing my homework recently though I discovered that…it actually isn’t difficult at all so I thought I’d share my easy ‘3 step’ how to, just in case like me there are couple of you who have been putting it off! Here goes…

Step 1.

Gently ease scissors or sharp object into the little gap on the eyeshadow container and wriggle about (technical phrase) until the shadow pops out. It should come out quite easily.

Step 2.

Holding with tweezers, hover above a candle moving back and forth. Keep checking the bottom of the plastic to see whether the plastic has melted in the centre (it should only take around 20 secs). You don’t want the plastic to melt away completely. Once you see that the plastic has melted a bit and looks soft, place the shadow face down on a plate and press on the the melted plastic until the shadow drops onto the plate. The back of the shadow will be quite sticky with glue.

Step 3.

If you want to remove the sticker to put on the back of the eyeshadow, just use the same process as step one, only hover for around 5 seconds. The sticker will then peel off without ripping and you can stick to the bottom of your eyeshadow.

VOILA!

Pop into your new palette and you’re done! I also like to cut little labels for the back of my palettes to remind me of the names!

I hope some of you find this useful. Like I said, I know I am incredibly late to the mark but I couldn’t believe how easy it actually is to do and why I had put it off for so long! In fact, it probably took me longer to write this post haha!

Have you used a similar method to depot your Mac eyeshadows? If you’re putting it off, don’t! It’s super easy 🙂

Thanks Frankie! Hopefully it’ll help someone out there, I just can’t believe I was putting off doing it for so long, it literally took about 5 mins! xx

That’s exactly how I do it too 🙂 I have to depot a couple blushes… they make me a bit more nervous than eyeshadows because they are harder to pop out. Anyway, very informative post!
