Ok, so we all know that the keys to radiant, glowing skin includes drinking more water, cutting out junk food, eating less sugar yada-yada-yada. Unfortunately for some of us, no matter how much of this we do we still need a little help along the way to achieving that natural glow…enter my 4 skin saviours for radiant, glowing skin – Origins GinZing refreshing eye cream, Dr Weil for Origins Mega-Bright skin illuminating cleanser, Neal’s Yard Remedies Power Berry Daily moisture and Mac Strobe Cream. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that we should substitute our water and healthy eating for these guys but there’s nothing wrong with a little help wouldn’t you agree?
Starting off with a cleanser. The Dr Weil for Origins Mega-Bright Skin Illuminating cleanser is somewhat of a recent discovery. I got this as a ‘gift with purchase’ recently and I’ve been reaching for this most mornings instead of my trusty Clarins gel cleanser. The smell reminds me of the Origins GinZing Moisturiser – that orangey zesty goodness. It’s so refreshing and lovely to use, and does a great job at wakening me up. I love the consistency too – quite a thick cream which turns into a milk when rinsed off with water. The results? A subtle natural ‘radiance from within’ look.
Moving onto the eyes. Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream has become a firm favourite of mines over the past couple of months to depuff and brighten up the eye area…who wants a glowing complexion with grey eyes right? Looking at this in the tub it looks like it has a shimmer to it but once applied it immediately brightens the eye area and absorbs really well without leaving any shimmer behind. It’s not as moisturising as I’d like it to be so I pop on some of my Michael Todd eye cream underneath, but boy does it give me that ‘I had a whole 8 hours sleep’ look which I’ve been in desperate need of in these dark winter mornings.
Next up are the moisturisers and I had to pick two. Both equally as great but quite different in consistency and ‘glow scale’ (yep I do have a glow scale). The Neal’s Yard Remedies Power Berry Daily Moisture creates a more dewy look and is good under foundations that are a tad too matte or drying on the skin (particularly now that the colder weather has came in). It smells delicious – like berries and mint (a weird but delicious smelling combination) and I feel like this gives a more youthful dewiness to the skin. A little word of warning though to oily gals, this might not be the best for you but dry skinned gals you will lurve it. Mac Strobe Cream comes out if I’m wanting to crank the glow up a notch or two. It immediately hydrates without leaving my skin feeling oily and definitely gives that ‘glow from within’ look. If a full on glow is too much for you, just dab a little bit on your cheek bones, down the bridge of the nose and the cupids bow et voila.
Note. I have combination/oily skin.
Have you tried any of these products? What do you think of them?
