The Spring heatwave has arrived in Glasgow (“hotter than Ibiza” apparently) and what better way to celebrate than go on a wee Summer shopping spree. OK so we have another 3 weeks until Summer has officially arrived but who’s counting eh? All of the shops have started getting in their Summer stock, including one of my favourites – Buchanan Galleries – which has been making me so excited!
Today’s look is in collaboration with Buchanan Galleries – head to toe (minus the apple).
THE LINEN TREND
Linen is one of the biggest trends of the season and we need to talk about this amazing Mango Striped linen jumpsuit – it’s light, breezy, ridiculously comfortable to wear and makes me feel as though I’m about to board my own private yacht. I LOVE it. The best thing? It creases ridiculously easy – surely that’s a negative you’re thinking? Ahhhh but it means you don’t have to iron it – see, silver lining and all that! I did consider taking up the hem in the legs so I could wear it with flats (short gal problems) but luckily I spied some gorgeous wedge espadrilles in John Lewis.
THE CULT SUMMER SHOE
If you haven’t picked up some espadrilles this season you NEED them, trust me. Espadrilles always make a comeback during Spring/Summer but they seem to be even bigger this year! They’re literally everywhere – I’m looking at you Castañer. I managed to find a good little dupe in John Lewis with these. I actually prefer the John Lewis ones to the cult Castañer wedges because they have a buckle strap rather that a ribbon. Sure the ribbon looks nice and all but they always ended up coming untied! See I’m all about ‘functional’ fashion…we all know that’s a lie haha. Anyway they’re the comfiest things ever and immediately ‘make’ any Summer outfit.
THE STAUD BUCKET BAG DUPE
Next up…the bag! You’ve probably already spied this on my instagram – another wee dupe item from Mango. They have this bag in a range of different shades (I have my eye on the tan version) and at £260 cheaper than the Staud Bucket bag it’s a steal! All that’s left to do is some accessorising and on that note I’ve just realised that I have yet another designer dupe. This gorgeous little double coin necklace, again from Mango. Are you sensing a pattern here? If you didn’t know already, Mango do the best dupes. Can you believe this necklace cost me the grand total of £15.99. Significantly cheaper than Missoma’s version at £145! They’re selling like hot cakes and seem to be sold out online but they have a couple left in Buchanan Galleries…run run run!
Now all that’s left to do is grab a boater hat, an apple and a captain. All aboard!!
