VIDEO: FASHIONISTAS GO WILD FOR DESIGNERS WHO DONT EXIST!! – JIMMY KIMMEL SHOW PRANK

So this is a very different post from what I usually do but my boyfriend just brought this video to my attention and I couldn’t help but share it with you guys!

To cut a long story short, an American TV show presenter Jimmy Kimmel played a prank on attendees at New York Fashion Week whereby attendees were interviewed about couture designers who actually don’t exist at all! The results are shocking, from the fact that some of the attendees lied in 2 seconds flat about knowing the designers (the best one was Eddie Munster haha!!), and further commented on the ridiculous non existent designs!

To be honest, I do find the whole thing quite funny and kind of ridiculous but on the other hand a bit sad because it makes me think that there are probably a lot of people parading around fashion week pretending to be someone they aren’t and some actually being a bit snooty about the whole thing.

Like a lot of people who are passionate about fashion, I would most definitely love to attend NYFW if the opportunity ever arose but I certainly would not feel the need to pretend I know absolutely everything about every single designer and if I was asked about a designer whom I didn’t know I would simply say “I don’t think I know them!” It’s not a crime to not know a designer if you are passionate about fashion and it certainly doesn’t mean that you don’t deserve to be there as much as the next person!
Anyway if you haven’t seen the video yet, watch it above and let me know your thoughts, it really is too funny…

Do fashion ‘gurus’ need to pretend to be someone else in order to fit into the fashion world? Thoughts 🙂

P.s. I thought I’d leave you with a photo of the real Eddie Munster…his eyebrows could give Cara Delevingne’s a run for their money!!

I think under the pressure of an interview that was going to go on TV I can see why you might nod along but to lie point blank about having seen their show is ridiculous. So hilarious though, I love how much of a fool some of the made of themselves!
